Try the 4-7-8 technique: inhale for four seconds, hold for seven, and exhale for eight. Be present is an art. Would you try to notice how your eyes move when you are reading along this line now?

  3. Keep Moving: Staying active is a powerful stress reliever. Whether it’s yoga, dancing, or a brisk walk, movement releases endorphins that put you in your oasis. Even small movements count. Incorporate stretching or squatting into your daily life; take the stairs instead of the elevator; or try chair yoga if mobility is an issue.  

  4. Set Realistic Expectations: Many stressors come from feeling like there’s never enough time in the day. Prioritize, delegate, set SMART goals and be assertive are just a few key concepts that work in reducing stress.

  5. Improve Sleep Hygiene: Establishing routine or reduce screen time are just a couple of advice from sleep hygiene for quality sleeps. Educate yourself about sleep hygiene to improve your sleep quality, so you have refreshed energy to handle your stress.
