About Natasha
Natasha is a Canadian Certified Counsellor and holds a Master’s degree from Yorkville University (hons), a BA in European History and German (hons) from West London University (UK) and a certification in horticultural therapy (VanDusen Botanical Gardens, Vancouver).
Are you feeling stuck, in crisis or just feel something isn’t right in your life?
My psychotherapy practice is grounded in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) weaving solutions focused brief therapy (SFBT) and emotion family focused therapy (EFFT) particularly good for family therapy. I am also a dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) informed clinician. CBT provides a clear therapy plan and works well for clients who have a goal and are seeking a change in their personal or work life. Sessions can be in person or virtually. Nuway is conveniently located across from Metrotown shopping centre and offers free parking.
Are you or a loved one suffering from a recent trauma or crisis? I have specific packages:
Sage: crisis intervention for clients who require intensive emotional regulation
Sweetgrass: working through life once emotional regulation is attained
Harmony: supportive psychotherapy working on the gains attained from Sweetgrass and Sage.
In addition to my practice at Nuway Counselling I am a mental health and substance use ER pediatric crisis clinician for Fraser Health Emergency Response Team East.
Before joining Fraser Health earlier this year I was the Supervisor at Foundry Ridge Meadows for its Operations, Peer Support (Youth & Family) and Wellness programs, a mental health centre for youth aged 12-24 years. As resident Horticultural Therapist at Langley Lodge Long Term Care Facility I provided group and individual therapy programs for seniors with dementia and head injuries. As a passionate gardener and believer in the power of nature to heal I have shared my knowledge in the benefits of horticultural therapy for neurodiverse children in “Gardening for Children with ASD and Special Educational Needs”. published by Jessica Kingsley publishers and am the proud recipient of the 2014 AHTA Book Publication Award.
I find peace and purpose by spending time with my family, walking my dog and swimming in the beautiful lakes of BC.
It’s not just the body we have to work out regularly, our mind needs booster work outs too. You do not have to do this alone. For further information on my packages and the Social Anxiety Group please reach out to Nuway Counselling on 604.448.2416 or go to www.nuwaycounselling.ca
